    LLAMS problems ?

Has anyone experienced problems after installing the LLAMS system? I am thinking of getting one on my 2005 D3, but a Land Rover mechanic told me he has seen heaps of problems with compressors, airbags, tyre wear and CV joints whenever people change the suspension settings of these vehicles by changing rods. He has never heard of LLAMS, but he advises against it.

I'm still keen, but I wanted to gauge public opinion before deciding either way.

    No problems!

But if you go down, up, down, up, down....the same thing using the factory switch, will cause the compressor to over heat.

Someone ill informed, without first hand experience, who heard it from a mates, ex wife's, boss's cleaner....told him this would happen. LR tech or not. If you are silly, then you will have problems. Going to hard with too much height.....not a good idea.

Plenty of people love their LLAMs and GOE rods....I am one.

With LLAMS and rods You only use it when you need to. With LLAMS i use -20 around town, and only lift when needed. You don't travel heaps of ks on +50. I think travelling at +30 would be no issue if you needed to. So many more advantages having these mods.

Plus two passionate land rover vendors Gordon (GOE) and Graeme (LLAMS) provide fantastic support.

If used correctly, there is no appreciable increase in wear on any of the components.

    Cheers,

One of the best mods done to my D4 so far, and in my opinion so long as you only use when needed (-20 for extra low carparks with Access mode selected), +30 for general fast flowing dirt roads (better clearance and more room before bumpstops) and +50 when on the beach needing maximum clearance you will have no issues.

I don't use mine for road use at all as it will effect the factory geometry and may increase tyre wear over a prelonged period......IMHO

Oh and BTW best of all, when on Stockton now my mates have given up doing 51kmph just to make my Disco lower

    LLAMS:
I'd go as far as saying the "First Mod" you should fit.
I was one of the first lucky ones to fit had it on for a couple of years now, no problem what so ever with other components.

Haven't been running my Llams for long enough to comment on wear, but as others have said if you only use it when you need it I can't imagine it actually causing any significantly increased wear. But it is an awesome mod, it makes an enormous difference if you are doing any significant off road driving. Also essential if you want to get into carparks with roof racks on

I've had llams for about a year and 20000 km later haven't had a problem. It's raised full time for clearance for the tyres, and did the trip to the cape towing a heavy camper and haven't had any abnormal wear. I got a wheel alignment right after I installed it and its been all good!

    Hi Rich,

Looking at a host of mods to D4. Who installed your mods?

    Thanks
