Disco 4 HSE vs SE - opinions

I am in the market for a Disco 4 and grappling with the varied options available. I have narrowed it down to one of these specs due to standard engine - 3.0L - and having a 'good' set of standard inclusions. Would love to hear what owners have thought of the options they've chosen and if they are 'marketing' or useful.

    Thanks.

Disco 4 HSE vs SE - opinions

    Jammers,

The SE has everything you need and the HSE has everything could want.

The navigation system from all reports is not great, rear air is excellent if you plan to use the 7 seats and the rest is personal preference.

The e-diff make a very capable vehicle awesome if plan to use it off road.

I have the alpine roof but would not get that again if if cost more.

Cooler in between the front sears is popular but not a fridge.

    Hope that helps.

    George.

Am waiting for my HSE, with Vision Pack and several extras. Just wanted the little extras such as seat memory and read AC, as well as a shorter options list.

    MY SE

Mine (MY10) came with the GPS....whilst I've heard it ain't the best I think you'll find pros and cons in all systems. The touchscreen certainly poohs all over the stupid Command system that's in my Merc. What I like about it, is the fact that it's there, as in built in....you want to steal the GPS....you have to steal the car.

It obviously acts as an MFD for other systems....stereo, phone etc. Not sure if the MFD is available without the GPS. The newer systems are probably DVD capable now....which may or may not be useful. My Merc's is....I never use it....LOL!!!

I think the Logic 7 H&K sound systems is part of the same package....which isn't a bad system.

I don't have but would definately get, extra air...'specially if your leather is ebony.

My Merc has active headlights, which sound wanky but are actually very useful.

I've read that the TC on later models is so good the e-diff is almost redundant in all but the most extreme conditions.....I'd get it anyway.

    Definately powered seats....

    Cheers,

    Kev.

Don't laugh; a cousin of mine had their Prado broken into, and their built in GPS stolen. Because it also controlled AC etc, much like the D4, it had to be replaced or nothing worked.

    $10,000 later...

MY12SE came with upgraded stereo (11speakers) and rear camera - very helpful and I love the size of the touch screen. Don't have rear air but not an issue as yet. Yet to test the rear diff. Xenon lights are very good and privacy glass a must for either model. Had the cool box previously on a RRS and hardly got used. Also had the memory function on the drivers seat but not missing this now as I am the primary driver. Have a portable GPS system and portable twin screen DVD and enjoy the flexibility of both. Really enjoying the ride - a very capable and comfortable drive.
I don't think you will be disappointed in either. Enjoy.

Appreciate comments, you've all touched in a key decision: ediff or not. Do you know of any good comparisons that try and quantify the difference?

As I do go off road, I went for the e-diff. Not expensive in the scheme of things, and didn't want to regret it later as you can't retrofit.
