If the plastic was that brittle and broke that easily its good that it happened at home and not on the road, was it the original black bottle? if so you should have replaced it by now anyway.

Hi all. I had one of those days today. I was under the bonnet of Ruby my 110 , having a look around , just checking levels ect. Anyway i thought i might put a cable tie on a cupble of wires between the fire wall and engine block , just to make them a bit more secure . While leaning over to reach down there, there was a snap at my left elbow , and yes i new strait away what it was . I had brocken the nipple off the expansion tank . The one the hose from the radiator connects to . It's not somthing i can repair . So it cost me a new expansion tank , plus i put a new cap on as well. No excuses, i should have known better, i will say it didn't take much , so be warned. I hope this helps . On my 1986 110 they have a brass expansion tank it's also closer to the rad , i think was a better design ..regards jmir1
