Most of the Roads and Motorists associations (NRMA) etc have similar services if you're a member and this is the way I went after my warranty expired. Different levels of membership equal different services.
As I am coming to the end of my warranty period I have received the obligatory letter asking if I want to continue to suscribe to LR assist. My question - is it worth it? What experiences do you have? At $140 for the premium service which includes up to 1,000km towing I am thinking maybe it is?

From my own experience, I wouldnt bother. I got the same letter and screwed it up.
The times that I used the service, I got visited by RAA and RACV, neither were of any assistance apart from offering the services of a flat top truck.
I was already paying for the RAA, couldnt see the point of paying for the same servive twice!
Hello from Brisbane.
I had both Volvo Assist and VW Assist with my normal daily drives when they were under warranty and elected not to extend them - I have RACQ Gold membership which made both redundant - also the small print on towing probably precludes its usefulness under most conditions.
Cheers
