rocker breather, before or after air filter?

Hi,

going through the new purchase at the moment taking note of the set up and I'm wondering about the choice that has been made regarding where the rocker breather hose is feeding into the intake air.

At the moment it is feeding in before the air cleaner, and on opening up the air cleaner, sure enough there is a fair amount of oil in there.

It seems that the original set up was to have it after the air cleaner, but this is now (crudely) blocked off.

My concern is having this oil getting stuck in the air cleaner is choking the engine and contributing to the rich mix I get when I press the go-pedal. (judging on the black smoke it blows if I don't keep the revs sedate when the turbo starts to boost)

oil hitting the cyclonic baffle, the filter is a dark grey as a result and there is small amounts of pooling oil in the covers.

it normally goes in after the aircleaners, HOWEVER, Some not so bright idiots who fitted K&N oil foam bird strainers worked out that they didnt have to worry about oiling the filter as often (if at all) if they fed the crankcase vapours into the airstream prior to the filter. at some point in its history yours may have had the birdstrainer mod done or been fitted with an external filter headed snorkle.
