    Jacking vehicle under wishbones

Gday , noticed in the new Haynes bible that a spring fitted disco can be jacked up under the wisbones , so wondering if this can be done with an air spring disco or RRS if set in normal or off road height and leave a door open or dissconnect battery . Just wondering if there is any technical or safety reason why this cant be done , would make changing wheels easier if it is ok . The old Google seems to have a lot of opinions but no real info if it is safe . Thanks , Al.

The head of your jack needs to safely cradle the arm. A trolley jack is preferable, as the loading "direction" will shift a little as you jack it up.

    Cheers,

Done it a few times too, the front wishbones have a hole so the jack fits in. Try not opening door and after about two wines the car self levels and up go,s the wheel, nice trick for your mates looking on and ribing you about your flat
