You can get Pirelli Scorpion ATR in 255/55/18. Around the same rolling diameter as 235/60/18 so legal. They get good reviews. I think I read somewhere on here that others have put 255 or 265 on without rubbing.
Hi all
First time poster, long time lurker.
Thought this might be of interest as I have been looking for all terrain tyres in 18 inch but to no avail until recently. I have received confirmation from General Tyres that they will start producing tyres in 235/60R18 for their AT range of tyres from the second half of this year. That is the good news. The bad news is they have not decided whether they will bring it into Australia. They will make that decision in July.
I know that 17inches wheels are better off road but I did not wish to purchase some expensive LR 17' rims so this is good news for me and hopefully, for those of you too that are in the same boat.
Regards
Oznut

Thanks Mike (I have followed and following your threads with interest... 8o))
I rather prefer to keep it to the original size (ideally 17' would have been better I guess but FL2 SD4 SE MY13 only comes in 18'). Besides I read that the lower the profile the worse it is for offroading. I am new to 4WD and new to LR (1.5 mth)..8o) ...waiting to attend the LR Experience day in May.
Hi all,
Just got confirmation from General tyres that the General Grabber AT tyres in 235/60 R18 size will be stocked in Australia late this year or early next year...Wahoo...rejoice those with 18 inch rims..
I've got bf goodrich at's in 18". Have you tried to get them in the size you require.
Thanks ..last time I checked (admittedly about 6 mths ago), BF Goodrich did not have an AT tyre in 235/60... But I will check again..thanks for the heads up.
Edited update: I just check the BF website, still no 235/60, what size did you install on your FL2?
If a tyre has a wider section and a lower profile the sidewall height could well be the same as a narrower tyre with a taller profile. Mike mentioned the 255/55 18 as having the same rolling diameter as the 235/60 18. To get the same rolling diameter you need to have the same sidewall height.
Don't make the mistake of assuming the profile as designated on the tyre relates directly to sidewall height. It is a measure of the sidewall, but expressed as a percentage of the width of the tyre.
Can anyone confirm if you can put a 255 width tyre on the original rim where 235s are already on?
I recall someone putting 255 width on theirs and saying it fitted. I have 245 on and it gets close to the shock width wise and 255 would be 5mm closer again. A friendly tyre place might let you try it on a slow day? The fronts are the main to try.
