    pre 1953 era dash lights???what bezel?

    hi all you 80" owners, did these have lucus dash lights with a black bezel as oposed to brass?
    the one i just got has the black but exactly the same apart from that

    Yes,

    Should be black. I Have seen some that are brassy - may have had the blacking rubbed or polished off. Rover cars of the period have chromed versions. Some have a resistor wrapped around the bakelite body. The ones with the resistor use a 2.5V globe - otherwise 12V. Red (Ignition); Amber (Choke); Green (Oil warning) glass insert lenses. The earliest Oil Warning lights have a cut OIL brass insert and are quite different in construction to the type you are referring to.

    There is a whole range of Lucas Part Nos during the 1950s.

    thanks it dose come up in a lr /lucas crossreferance chart
    the body is the same as the lights on my 1955 but i have brass bezel's ill use it till i find a brass one or might leave it in its box and put a swap add in the markets, sleep on it i guess as it took to long to find lol
