TD5 Fast Idle? (+ heat exchange hot water system)

    Hi all,

Just a though here, and it may not be possible. But...

I am thinking of installing a pulley driven compressor, for an on board air system. Having just got the defender, and having no idea about the revs, YAY, i was thinking that increasing revs would give that extra oomf if i require a high air supply. In my dads patrol there is a fast idle switch, can something like this installed into the defender?

Also i have been reading about people using their egr as a heat exchanger, is there any in details posts available on how to do this?

    Thanks

There was a clip on youtube with a TD5 that had an idle up switch
I think it was done by one of the turning companies I presume it will involve earthing a pin on the ECU to run a second map.
I was warned against doing the 2 map modification because of potential failure due to vibration.
