You can get generic choke cables from Repco. They are quite long, but you can cut them down to size..

I have a series three with a 186 holden engine fitted. I purchased a choke cable for it a few months ago and it doesn't quite fit and is about one inch too short to comfortable reach the carby. I can't remember if the one I bought was for an original 4 or 6 cyclinder land rover engine. With the colder months approaching I'll need to get another one. Does anyone know what type I should get and where I can get it from? I would like to still have the cold start light switch fitted so I'd imagine an aftermarket one won't do.
The original one that came with the vehicle was broken but it was long enough and did have the switch fitted to it so there must be something out there. The carby is just a standard stromberg.
Many thanks
Vince

I have one from a Nissan/Datsun 180B fitted to my Landy. It fits into the original place on the steering column and reaches the 186 carby no worries at all.
Cheers, Mick.
