    54 SWB rear axle

    Hi,
I recently purchased a 54 SWB and I need a RHR semi floating axle as mine is badly twisted at the spline. Does anybody make new ones or where can I get a good used one.
Is it possible to convert it to a full floating one or is the main banjo unit different or will a Series 2 full floating diff bolt in?

    Thanks
    Alastair

It is simple to convert to full floating. The full floating stub axle just bolts on. Late lwb Series 1 had this. The only catch is that the half axles are shorter than Series 2, and scarce as hen's teeth. However, the Series 2 axles fit with a spacer made by turning the centre out of a Series 2/3 drive flange, and this is a common conversion.

You will need to locate longer bolts - which are BSF.
