Vibrating Defender, when turning right and accelerating at 100kmh.

    8 week old MY13
    Got 3,000ks on it.

Heavy vibration in steering wheel, to the point it makes the hands go numb and tingle. It's a high frequency vibration in time with engine revs, more like a buzz than a vibration. Only occurs under heavy acceleration over 75kmh and only when turning the wheel to the right. You can make a tune by just feeling a little right hand turn on a freeway at 100k's in 5th or 6th whilst accelerating.

Take your foot off - no vibration - regardless of the wheel input.

I thought Intercooler hose rubbing, especially as the intercooler hose blew the other day. But now the hoses are replaced, the dealer tells me it's still doing it.

Dealer thinks it's a steering damper with a flat spot. But my experience of dampers is that if faulty it's more of a wobble, I would not have thought the steering damper could damped high frequency vibrations as they have rubber bushes and there would be too much play in those...

    Any ideas?

All I can think of is that something is rubbing when the engine is under power.
The only other thing is, I have wondered what a cv with no oil would feel like....maybe?

Faulty front drive shaft universal? Possibly assembled with the incorrect phase angle. A bit of RH lock would tilt the axle slightly and increase the angle of the unis.

    No - still stock standard.

I got it back yesterday, it's not vibrating as badly in fact it's really only doing it occasionally now. they did replace the steering damper - but I bet that's not the cause of the issue. Will have to drive it some more to see is whatever it is finally breaks.
