I am sure you will get lots of ideas and help. As far as locations go, South East Queensland has THE best BBQs', so put us on your list.
Hi all, I am in the planning stages of a "backpacking" trip to Australia later this year.
My current car is a 1960 sII shorty. It was the 2.0 diesel originally, but the head was cracked, so now has a 2.25 diesel.
The plan is to find a good condition, lwb series rover, and outfit it for traveling and exploring.
Ideally I would like to find a sI or sII, that is in regular use and not needing any major work. I have been watching Gumtree and carsales,
but as I am in the states I am unable to collect or inspect a vehicle when I find one. If there is anyone who has any ideas on this I would love to hear them.
Also, as I am planning, any locations or other ideas would be great to hear.

Hey thanks, I'm hoping to do some rover shows and meets.
Here is a pic of the 88 on a trip I did to Montana.

Thanks for the lead, I will fallow up on that.
Well its official, my Visa was granted the other day. Now I am really on the lookout for a good LWB series. I am planning on arriving in October in Melbourne. As I travel north, I would like to attend a club event or two, if Yanks are allowed around that is. Will be checking here and updating as things progress.

You would be welcome to drop in here some time in your travels.
