Chasing a bolt if anyone can help.

Hi all I am wondering if anyone has a spare windscreen to firewall bolt for a Series 3. It is the one that allows the windscreen to stay attached and tilt forward. I have included a picture. Shoot me a PM if you can help. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Matt

Matt - we're having a meeting (with Arthur Goddard - co-inventor of the Land Rover) on Wednesday evening and several of the attendees (and anyone is invited) will no doubt be able to help you....I'm sure we can get you one....that's what we do - Series Land Rovers. Leave it with me....

Thanks Dan that would be great. Pete has one for me but would be handy to have a spare.

Asking around, it would seem that an S3's bolts are probably unf. Perhaps Pete can confirm. If all you need is a spare, the suggestion is to try a bolt shop.....Off the shelf bolts should fit.

    Can I reply in here?

A standard bolt wont fit (properly) as they have a larger shank for the pivot.

Believe it or not, I think they are M8. (Mine are from a stage 1 if that makes any difference when comapred to the older ones?)

    Here you go Mick.

Sorry I only had a few mins to do this while I had a late lunch. I am still unsure whether the earlier series 3's would have had metric threads. My stage 1 definetely does though.

It looks like it started out life as a 3/8' bolt, how many do we want?

    Cheers, Mick.

I thought that too to start with Mick, but it has the metric HT grading system on the head as opposed to the imperial one. (8.8 in this case)

    Its a very strange bolt
