Chinese toy maker 'buys' $5 million visa to bring family to Victoria | adelaidenow
A cool $5 million will now get you a class 888 "significant investor" visa and then permanent residence 4 years later.
Gone up a bit since the 10 pound POM's.
I wonder how many Columbian drug lords have applied!
Isn't 8 a lucky number for the Chinese? seems rather obvious who the Gov are trying to attract.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
Why? Everyone I know there (my whole family) want to get out at the moment... Mum just came back from visiting her Sisters, and said on her return "God, I'm glad we got out of there when we did..."
No offence intended to anyone here, but the economy there is in the toilet ATM, and things don't look like improving any time soon...

We moved to Tassie 2 years ago for a better life and now the company I work for is on the verge of going bankrupt.
Also my parents live here too but I never see them and they don't seem too really give a dam about me or my family which ****ing gives me the ****s
So the plan was to either head back to Perth WA or to the UK so when we go there in September I will have a look round at costs and see whats best
What were the reasons they all left the UK???
Adam
Sorry to hear of your problems Adam, hope you find somewhere to go.
I came over years ago with Mum and Dad when I was young, and we all stayed. Where our family live, there is currently very high unemployment, and not a lot of prospects in the near future.
A lot of crime because of this, vandalism, etc.
Most of our extended family still live there. Mum was 1 of 7 children in her family, and they all have kids, and most grand kids now.
Some of my Cousins have moved OS, but none here to Aus.
