    Defender vent seals

    Hi all.

Looking at replacing the vent seals . What is the best option out there, the foam style that sticks to the flap itself, or the type that glues onto the firewall. It's a 97 110

    Thanks in advance

I replaced mine with the SIII type that get glued to the firewall.
These are rubber and should last longer.
Although there is an increased chance of rusting due to retaining moisture behind the seal.

The other type are just foam and would have a limited life especially if buying aftermarket, unknown quality.

I did the traditional foam on the vent falp about 12 months ago. Seems to have held up ok - though now that I said that I havent checked their condition for a while, but it continues to stop a significant amount of rain coming in so must be ok.
