    Bought a cheap endoscope today

Today I was in Jaycar and bought a usb endoscope for $24.95.
USB plugs into your laptop, and you use your laptop as screen, so you get full screen, you can do a snap shot or a avi video, 4 led and adjustable brightness, also water proof. 2 meter length.
A cheap bit of kit that is small enough to go into spark plug holes.
Here's a test a scary pic of what's in an ear.
For the price resolution isn't too bad.

That's gross!. Did the same thing with the one I bought from Aldi the other day.

Mine has a small LCD screen and I have used it almost every day since I got it. Small enough to get into a cylinder through the spark plug too. Very handy.

I had one of those small screen ones from Hare and Forbes, about $160 I think I paid used it a couple of times and it was kapputt, also the head was too big for spark plug holes and the metal hose hard to bend. I love the fact that this one works on lap top so you get a big picture. Although LED Lap top screens aren't the best in bright sunlight.

Would they be small enough to go through the wading plug hole in a 300TDI timing cover to inspect the belt?

That will be good for those in the "other thread" that do not trust doctors.
This can be a handy tool for DIY Colonoscopy

Mine was $89 and seems to work fine. Has a 1 year warranty and Aldi have no problems honouring their warranties. The head is less than 10mm. You are right about the hose being hard to bend though, but for price I'm happy to put up with it.

The USB one would be handy at times and to get a bigger picture.

They say 10mm camera,I just micromed it @9.92mm and the wading plug @13.7mm thread out to thread outer so it would be a tight one but doable I reckon

Was going to say, all he needs now is a tub of lube, and he's all set to play doctors and nurses.

Arthur, do you know the difference between an endoscopy and a colonoscopy?

    The taste.
