    Awesome new Bike carrier

I thought there may be some interest for an awesome new bicycle carrier I've just put on the car.
Made in Melbourne by the engineer who designed it; of all the carriers I've bought over the years this is the best I've come across, simple, strong and secure. There are some great pictures on George's website, and although I haven't taken it off road yet the pictures suggest it'll be rock solid.
Biggest draw card for me is that I can still access the back door with the bikes lowered and that they don't need to be removed.
George is brilliant to deal with, all the time in the world to explain things and look into solutions for any problems out of the norm. He has a solution for the levers for the swing away on the Kaymar Bar and hopefully looking for a way of mounting the rack on a Tvan

No financial gain involved, just promoting an awesome product. Very Happy.

Nice - can you tow a trailer with it?

I've decided on this one too. Will be ordering it in a couple of weeks. He knows his stuff.
I was going to make one myself but can't be stuffed and it will look average in comparison to this.

He has one designed for the Kimberley Karavan.
    Works a treat.

Thule has something similar except it doesn't have the bikes as high off the ground. Works well, and doesn't rattle as uses and expanding piece to lock it to the hitch receiver.

Not able to tow a trailer while using it as it mounts in the hitch.
I'm hoping to have something similar to the attachment on the Kimberly Karavan made for my Tvan so I can carry the bikes.
The carrier is configured so that when removed from the camper/karavan it can be used on the car... great for when you set up camp and still want to go off cycling.

    Two quick observations / questions.

That looks like it will put a lot of load on the tow hitch assembly (leverage). Does it comply with overhang limits?

Thanks for posting pics and the link Steve.

As my kids are getting bigger, their bikes are too! Transporting the family bikes is becoming an issue and I was looking for some alternatives to what we do now.

We have a roof rack mounted one but it is a bit of an effort due to the height of the vehicle. This looks pretty good.

I'm able to lift the carrier with two bikes attached with one hand (the bikes weigh in at about 45kg total) I could be wrong with the downward force, I doubt that it produces more force than having the camper on the back. George makes a carrier that holds four bikes which would be heavier and have more leverage. Mine is the Extreme Duty Mid length, also available is the compact and extended version.

According to the info supplied with my NSW Bike rack number plate a bicycle must not protrude more than 1200mm from the rear of the vehicle at its widest point( handle bars I guess), Must not be more than 60% of wheel base or stick out more than 150 mm from either side of vehicle. I haven't done the measurements but I can the next time I have the bikes on, don't stick out past the edges anyway.
    Pat-
I've had the Thule bike carriers on the roof as well, it was only a matter of time until I fell off or put a pedal through a window when trying to get them up or down
I've already managed to drive into the car port with them on the roof of my wife's car, thankfully not TOO much damage caused.

I have the 4 bike carrier one from ISI.

Excellent system and easy to lift even with the 4 bikes in situ
