Halfway home from my parents place i noticed my GPS mount was missing from the RH side of the instrument binnacle, hadnt driven the disco since Thursday and trying to remember if i left the car unlocked when i moved it out of the drive.
I live in a small court and the main traffic we get apart from residents in the mates of the 3 x young guys next door. I was fuming thinking that one of their mates must have pinched.
A quick look around and nothing else seemed to be missing and when i parked i checked the glove box to see if anything there had gone, and what did i find there ? Wife must have moved my car and saw the gps so took the whole thing and stuck it in the glove box , i was relieved then annoyed that she neglected to tell me .

I quite often leave my car unlocked and even left the key in my bike and never had any problems.

Both my son and grandson have had their GPSs nicked by low life as they left them attached to the windscreen. Smashed windows and the scum are gone in seconds, alarm or not it doesn't stop them.
I try to leave absolutely nothing on view to catch the scums eye and would definitely never leave the vehicle unlocked.
I've got a camera security system and have lost count of the number of times low life have come down the driveway and tried the doors.
Even showed the cops a clip from the system and told them where the bloke lived and they weren't interested enough to even check him out.
I know they're busy with speeding motorists but I did make it easy for them.

AlanH, go and tell the bloke you have the footage and handed it over to the Police.
If he gives any lip, arrange to have a truck run over his legs.

Definitely wont leave it in the holder now, wife did me a favour coz next time it could be somewhere else and i wont be so lucky.

I would burn the footage onto a DVD and drop it in the offenders letter box. He's likely to pick another driveway if he knows you're watching.

I haven't got a security camera, it about time I did as my wife and I live too close to a Boganville camp.

One thing I noticed on TV the other night was the clip showing a hold up of a local bottle shop that the two offenders both wore hoodies, but the camera was too high to see into their faces.

A hidden camera at bench top height would fix that.

Seriously though, if you leave the holder on the screen odds are the GPS is in the car and theyll break in anyhow.. Take the holder off as well...

DO NOT programme it to attend your home address...ever..

They steal them and set "home" in, then they are guided to your house knowing you are at the shops or whatever...

Have it come near to the end of your street or about 4/500 metres away.
