Seeing that makes me wish I was shorter.

    Look forward to updates.

    looks quite good.
the uk is good but you have a ok land rover place is melbourne at blackwood or blackburn, they have a good catalog and are easy to order off and are quite reasonable priced but just need to be a bit careful you get the right parts.

4 Wheel Drives in Blackburn have a good range of new and secondhand parts. Land Rover Parts and Accessories
They carry the same aftermarket parts as everyone else (Britpart, Bearmach etc.) but will also source parts from local suppliers. Some rubber parts are suspect (same as other suppliers because they are mostly all made in India).

The alternative is to ship from the UK. Much cheaper (even though shipping can double the UK cost) but you'll often be getting the same quality as 4 Wheel drives supply.
Some UK suppliers list both genuine Land Rover parts and pattern parts.

I've had good service from LR Series and Paddocks. Pegasus have a lot of parts re-manufactured but I experienced a long delay getting parts plus they didn't have credit card facilities. There are lots of other UK suppliers.

Land Rover Parts | Range Rover Spares - Accessories | Paddock
    L. R. Series - specialists in land rover, land rover series and range rover - gearbox, axle, transmission parts, spares and major units
Pegasus Parts remanufacture new Land-Rover bulkheads for Series models.

    Best of luck,

You would be surprised how many parts you will still be able to get from your nearest Land Rover dealer. Whether or not they still have the old parts books is a different matter though!

    Well done on the purchase

    Thanks Colin

Thanks for the tip i will check them out. I was thinking of getting chassis from UK apprentlly, it can be imported for $1000 plus whatever chassis cost.

Let see i have plenty of time not rushing into anything

I've found Fred Smith in North Wantirna a surprisingly good source of parts.

I remember someone on the forum imported a chassis a while back, I'm sure it worked out just over $3K.
How bad is your chassis ? Can it be repaired ? There's lots of threads on here covering chassis repairs. If you have room it might be worth looking out for a 'parts car'. Often vehicles turn up with good chassis'.

PS: I also use Fred Smith in Bayswater (30 Havelock Road). Tends to be a bit more expensive for s/h parts and if you visit personally you need to allow a couple of hours......

You can get a galvanised chassis from richards chassis Prices
I personally would buy a wreck with a good chassis.
