    Idea for the forum

    Hi

I don't know about anyone else, but with the increasing number of people fabricating stuff for our beast but I am having trouble keeping up with the options for things like winch bars, rear bars, rock sliders, snorkels etc

I was thinking that collecting these in one place would be a good idea, one option would be to have a sticky which links to the manufacturers site.

That way member can quickly see what stuff is available in OZ for the P38.

Of course this can only happen if the members and mods are happy, but it seems to work well on the rr.net forums.

    Steve

PS: I note we are now neck and neck with the classic forum for activity

Great idea mate! Maybe have admin only to control updates on it too to prevent chit-chat clogging up the good info?!?

    I like this idea.

Yeh I hear ya Keith re admins and filtering. Otherwise it all ends up buried and 99 pages with the same question and chatting going on.

    HI

Yes the issue is the moderation, I agree that the thread would need to be locked and able to be updated by admins only.

Perhaps a simpler solution is for me to hack up a web page and list the stuff there?

My idea is to let this thread run until I am sure i have got all the options, then I can make a new thread and ask the mod to make it a sticky

Copied from the official update thread. Just didn't want to fill that thread with my chitter chatter.

Sounds good to me. Any ideas how you will keep it up to date after the list has been closed? I guess PM's or emails or a form or something on your website.

I guess a wiki style thing is a fair effort or can get to messy with everyone editing it?

I'm more than happy with your thoughts and efforts, but just throwing ideas out there..

    HI Mate

I like the wiki idea if things get bigger ;-)

I went for the website idea because I already had a couple of simple pages and it was easy to add a section at the top

Great idea, I was just about to look for the post on spotlights. If we had this page it would cut down so much searching time

As an active member on another car marque site I find it frustrating that this forum does not have the same level of stickies at the top of the page grouped in easy to follow sections. This obviously takes a far bit of effort from the Mods to start with but once organised I presume its easier just to keep them updated. It makes life easy for both new and old hands to find info and stops the same questions being asked over and over
See the other site to see how well stickies can be managed
