Lol - my parents still marvel at the new fangled range of current children's seats.
Apparently they took me home in a basket sitting on the back seat of a Hillman Hunter, and that was completely legal at the time! (or so they say)

Ooh! I must be old, I can remember those seats and they were common in the likes of FJ/FE Holdens and the English family cars of the 50's the one in the pic is in USA as that is a 50's Ford Sunliner (Customline Convertible)the model we never received
along with the 2Dr Hardtop(Victoria),Coupe,Station Wagon, all we got was the 4dr pillared sedan and it used the 55 dash right through to 58.
