300TDI?
I bought a kit from the UK. Dayco belt + new gears - IIRC a idler gear and crank gear with edge lip.
Mines due and I'm wondering what kits you blokes are useing? I gather genuine is dear as poison. And what kind of mileage are you changeing your belts? Mines done 70k there abouts since the last one

Yup 300tdi what was the damage?
I think it was about $120.
I always use Dayco belts, dont always change pulleys or gears. Did that at 180k. am replacing idlers and tensioners at this 1 320k.Change at or around the 60-70k mark. Let the first go to 100 on L/R advice and it let go! That was just b4 the changed service interval to 60k! Some pics of a belt at 70k compared to a new 1.
Cheers Scott

The thing that I considered most when buying another LandRover ( after a catastrophic 1HDT timing belt failure ) was 'does it have a timing belt ?'.
which is why I chose a Td5
so anyone here tried a Zeuss Timing gear kit on a Tdi. If I had Tdi it would be a priority for me & if I'd known they were available I might have considered Tdi instead of Td5 ???
Zeus Timing Gears-50,000 km Review.
flame away, I know in reality they dont give much trouble, but once burned ...
Don, have you ever read up on how much trouble the Zeus kits have given over the years ?
Plus the weight apparently is something else too.
The Tdi's are pretty good these days.
