Following from my post earlier, here is a pic.
Its not cargo tie down points. The photo was taken with the rear seat folded up. You can just see the corner of the other seat in the down position. Why are they there and what is their use?
Hope this works.

I just had a look at mine and its the same, I've had the rear seats out for several years and hadn't noticed the flaps in the carpet, which are fairly rough cut btw...from underneath difficult to really see but I'm guessing its a body/chassis mount point.
Garrycol,
im still only learning my way round the forum and am also not a gun with computers....its a poor excuse for starting another thead, buts all i got. Please accept my humblest appologies.

Thanks ramblingboy.
Yes the cuts are rough. I was thinking possibly another mounting point for childrens safety devices. Who knows??!!??

Have you checked to see if someting is mounted on the underside of the vehicle? its a hell of a washer..could it be a body mount?
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Havent checked the underside....yet. Didnt get around to it today. It was dark by the time i had finished the list of things swmbo had given me. Will definately be on the to do list for tomorrow.
That'd be the bit that holds your discovery together...
Cheers
