    1998 Freelander Stalling Issue

    Hi guys

Am brand new on here so please forgive me if this has been asked/answered before

My 1998 Freelander wagon has an issue that when revs drop it stalls, eg when going round corners. Tried changing idle screw to bring revs up as seemed to idle quite low but wouldn't adjust - was either too high or too low. Also if idling and fans kick in it stalls because revs drop.

Was advised could be idle positioning switch. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they found the solution.

    Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum - you need to tell us what engine you have - 1.8 petrol or L series diesel.

Maybe also relevant - whether an Xe or base model.

    Cheers

Sound like the idle stepper motor is U/S.
Part number for this is MLZ100050L.
You will also need to find someone with a diagnostic computer able to talk with Freelanders as they need to be set.
