One touch windows - "UP" not working

Hi there, what a great forum and source of information. I've just bought a second hand Disco 4 and am over the moon with it. My wife was v sceptical of us spending all that money but I had been talking about it for almost a year, I think she just couldn't hack it anymore

A small thing I've noticed is that the one touch windows on the UP don't work. The down is fine, but not the up.

I am assuming (from reading the sticky here on the D4) that all have one touch electric windows.

Has anyone else experienced this? And any idea? It's got about 6weeks to run on the warranty. Also, anything else I should be checking before I start paying for the bills as opposed to Mr LR

    Hey mate,

Should be just a settings thing.

If I remember rightly you just hold the up button up (after window has closed) for about another 3 - 5 secs.

You may have to put the window all the way down before you close it and hold.

It's been ages since I've done it, so I'm a little rusty on the exact facts. It is a simple fix though.

    Cheers,

    Kev.

Had to do something like this to mine to get it to work, but my memory has forgotten what i did.

What we need to do is put the procedure in the D3/4 RRS frequently asked questions, once someone chimes in with the answer.

I haven't had to do it on the D4 - but on Toyotas, every time you disconnect the battery for any purpose, the "auto up" function on the windows is lost.

To re-set it, lower each window all the way down by holding the button down without interruption. Then raise the window fully by holding the button without interruption. The "auto-up" function is then re-set. You had to do this for all four windows in a Prado.

Hopefully the Disco is something similar.
    Cheers .........

I had some issues with my auto window up on a MY12 D4. Windows worked fine except for the auto up and down function. Turned out to be a fault with the front passenger controller but it affected all the others. Had if fixed under warranty so you might want to check it out with the dealer before yours runs out.

    Cheers,

    Thanks guys. I've sussed it!

As a few of you had mentioned, it was as follows:

    1. Put window all the way down.
    2. Put window all the way up, and release.
    3. Hold "up" for 3-5 seconds.

I did it from the main driver control and had to do each back window individually.

Easy when you know how- and yes, would recommend this going on to the FAQ page.

Cheers again. Let just hope it works in the morning

    BMKal,

When you disconnect the D4....auto up is lost.....well it does that on mine. Have disconnected when leaving it parked for a while, plus to reset a couple of suspension faults and its gone each time.

As you described its only a one minute fix to get it right each time.

If you are talking about global closing, it is not enabled on Oz vehicles due to LRs interpretation of ADRs.
