Hi all
Quick question. Can't find on forum sorry.
BEst air filter for an 06 tdv6 Disco.
No snorkel, Perth based with fairly frequent towing trips up north.

Bearmach OEW from Karcraft, 12bucks.

Paper filters are where I have stayed, the reasons are varying,

Pretty much performance filters are not the best for any dirt/dust use, K&N etc, you get more flow but less protection from fine dust. And oil.foam filters are no good as it can cause issues with the intake sensors, AFM etc.

OEM from Supercheap are more like $50+ for some unknown reason.

It looks like the OEM filter is made by Mahle:

LX 1764 is the Mahle PN

C 31 196 is the MANN+HUMMEL PN - which will be the same quality or better.

These are the only two brands of filter I would use. Stay away from K&N, and aftermarket brands like ryco are unknown quality.

Same as isuzurover, Mahle from Rovercraft I get a few at a time for travelling, change them on the trip if it is particularly dusty. Cheap insurance. Wouldn't put a K&N in as mentioned contamination of the AFM etc. Stick with paper, make sure your seals are good.
