    HK Stereo and BT

    Hi All,

My local dealer loaned me a MY13 Disco with the upgraded HK stereo over the weekend. I've paired it with and iPhone 5S (iOS7.02).

Device pairs up ok. Sounds great, no dropouts etc. But, I can't change tracks or albums etc from either the steering wheel controls or the touch panel on the stereo. Track/album changes only work from the iDevice.

Is this expected behaviour? I wold have referred to the manual, but wasn't in the car.

    Thanks in advance.

Seems to be a problem with the iPhones. I have very limited control of tracks / album / playlist choices when my iPhone 4 is paired via Bluetooth. My last phone was a Blackberry and I had full control of music choice via screen or steering wheel with that one. Just another reason why I'm not a real big fan of apple products - though they do have their uses.

I usually have an iPod touch plugged into the docking point in the console when travelling though, and use that for music - full control via either the touch screen or buttons on the steering wheel with that one.
    Cheers .........

I've noticed the same thing with my iPhone, via Bluetooth limited functionality but as soon as it's plugged in you can browse tracks etc through the menu. This is with iOS 6.x and with 7.02.

    Cheers,

To be honest, I couldn't tell you. I know it's been telling me for ages that there's an iOS update available (probably more than one). I haven't bothered to update it - and probably won't - as it works fine just the way that it is.

I've had the iPod for at least four of five years, if that means anything - and I've never connected it to the internet, so it's still on the same iOS as it was when I bought it.
    Cheers .........

Brilliant, thanks. More than happy to get the right functionality via cable...
