This looks to have the correct specification as the manual WSS M97B44-D
The service life of the OEM coolant in the 2.7TDV6 is 10 years but the caveat is that at each service the Specific Gravity is tested and if outside specifications the coolant is changed - I wonder how many dealers actually do this test??
I have searched but cannot find what the required Specific Gravity range is for the coolant.
Anyone know what it is?
Thanks
Garry

Thanks for that - good information.
However I would have expected an acceptable SG range at a given temp and concentration.
Also - does anyone know what concentration the OEM coolant is mixed to.
Thanks

50% coolent + 50% water me thinks .
Reading this post today and doing a bit of follow up research I am of the opinion that using a 50-50 mix of coolant is for no other reason than meeting European requirements in winter to have a -40c rating on the coolant.
Is that how others are reading things?
Infact if your coolant mix goes beyond 50-50 you loose heat transfer efficiency as well

Should have attached this file as well.
So I take it that the OEM coolant is Havoline XLC?
Cheers

I also believe this - I still use the 50/50 mix though just because this engine is a fickle bloody thing when it comes to its fluids.
I use Nulon OAT coolant concentrate in mine. It conforms to the same standards as the LR spec. Def don't use Ethyl Glycol, same as in most euros!
