    F2 174-531 - Whats it worth?

Stumbled across F2 tipper 174-531 (even has its AMF plate still screwed on) tucked up behind a shed a couple of days ago, the owner is interested in selling it, but doesnt know how much he wants.

Its still pretty intact, looks to be missing the cover for the roof hatch on the passengers side, floor is pretty sad from when it was being used to cart fertiliser, otherwise it looks to be pretty complete.

Mechanically, it hasnt been started for some time and the owner seems to think the gearbox is shagged, but it still has its winch....

What would be a fair price to offer for it?

How long is a pice of string?

The F2 were the trucks that got worked hardest in service and post service.

A mate recently sold an F2 without the tray for $1,500. He removed the tray vecause of chain of responsibility rules in the transport industry.

The value of the truck will depend upon lots of aspects, you would want to check all the suspension bushes etc with a long bar, the cab needs to be checked for rust, particularly above the gutter.

The advice from the friend with the F2 is that with a broken gearbox and the cab etc being reasonable to good, he still wouldn't want to pay more than $3,500 to $4,000.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
