You can't legally use copper, but you can use approved copper alloy tubing that does not work harden and crack.

						Hi every one,
I am about to start the process of replacing the copper brake lines on the series 2 i am restoring.
A quick question to get me started on the process:
Am i able to replace with copper or do i have to use steel now?
cheers for your time and help

As mentions, straight copper is a no no. Drop into your local brake shop and get the correct copper alloy tubing of them - it is quite cheap, and easy to work with. A cheap tube bender off ebay for a few dollars and a flaring tool, and you are good to go.

I think you need a flaring tool that does double flares to be legal. Regards John

Check with your local licencing authority before you buy it - some allow it, some don't,
Cheers Charlie
I had some copper brake pipes fitted.I had to provide proof that they were of the approved type. That I could not do. Replaced them with steel. .W.
