    Auto Dimming/switching 3.5mm audio switch

My googling and forum searching seems to have failed me.

Does such a thing exists/easily to DIY - take 2 3.5mm audio inputs (iPod and UHF output) and auto switch to the second one only when it has a signal?

i.e. I want to listen to my ipod through my aux in on the car stereo and that input be auto switched off/to the UHF 3.5mm input when somebody is broadcasting.

I was also thinking about the same thing last week when I spotted the 3.5mm output on the back of my UHF unit.

I had a quick google search but couldn't see anything either.

I might post on an electronics forum or somewhere like instructables.com to see if I can get an answer from there.

Jaycar used to have one that did this,

Some (motorolla i think) 2 ways used to have an aux in on them, pipe your sound into the 2 way and then into the amp. When the 2way wasnt recieveing it would simply pass the aux in to the out put and cut it when the 2 way broke squelch.

heres a module that does it for you from my favorite place...
Short Circuits Three Project - VOX - Sound Switch - Jaycar Electronics

just need to change the relay setup to suit.
