Amarok failure at 80k. Complete destruction

Want an update on my Amarok after 2 years???

New engine at 79k. Timing belt was destroyed due to drive belt going thru the timing cover. Pistons bit valves.

New clutch at 79k as the idiots forgot I mentioned the shudder. So the gearbox came out again.

Rattle in the headlining. Like a nut in the pillar moving. They can't find it.

Fuel filler cover won't unlock randomly. Have to pull inner wheel liner off to get to it. They can't fix it.

Diff whines. They claim this is normal. 79k old.

Clunk and vibration in driveline. Wait for the last post.

Trailer lights make the indicators flash fast. Genuine VW towbar and ECU box. They can't work out why!!!!

Took 6 attempts to get one dealer to attempt to fix these.
Doing so they damaged the front guard. The repair was something your 3yo could finger paint.
Bolts left loose on the bull bar.
CB antenna cable cut to get the bar off. They used joiners and tape to connect it.
Oil left all under the cross member. Brake fluid on the panels just wiped off. Not washed.

Best part. Vibration when I picked it up after 8weeks. 500km later the tailshaft came adrift and trashed the underside.

The Dealer in fault won't let me in there dealership as I made a scene. No **** Sherlock. Who wouldn't after they damaged the body and their lack of thought leaving bolts loose or over torqued, causing a tailshaft to trash the floor at 80kmh.

VW are looking into buying it off me due to the drama the dealer created.

The price I want, they won't want to pay. They have a car that has been ruined due to one dealers incompetence.

    Not Happy Jan !!!!!

    Clarkie.

Have been following your posts on ausamarok, thought you were relatively happy with it besides the engine failure, which from what I've read there is a fix for this? I better check mine. Guessing the dealer is around ferntreegully/burwood hwy area?

Indicator thing is weird. I made a load box for ours prior to picking up our new camper trailer, turns out I didn't need it as the light work fine on it.

Yours was one of the first ones out here correct?

Have you people fitted the new EDK kit ?
There are reports of timing belt failure with 5 to 10 thousand kilometers only.
Have VW in Australia issued a recall for the Amarok?

No not yet. Will give them a call about it tomorrow. It only appears to be a problem if your fan belt breaks.

I'm devastated the dealer has destroyed my car. I loved driving it.
