It's Nail-biting time

I'm sitting here reading lots of posts (gee the site has grown), while my Ex-mil S3 109 is undergoing an inspection for re-registration. It has taken me 10 months of every spare minute to strip down, repair/replace and rebuild everything except engine (holden 202) and gearbox, which were done by previous owner. Body has been back to bare metal and resprayed (not military colours - sorry guys!). It looks a treat, but I did note the brakes were a bit spongy on the drive to the inspection station (probably haven't bled them properly - It's hard to do them by yourself). I'm hoping to get through relatively unscathed, the money tree is bare.

The only down side is that I promised my wife that I would start the second stage of our renovations when it was complete (stage 1 ended the day I got the S3!) I would much rather do a Landy than a house, but we can't live in a Landy (well I almost do, but the wife wouldn't)

Next project is my 2a 88, have had for a while, and it is getting very tired, a run out at Yalwal on the weekend resulted in the front end sitting on the bump stops as the springs have totally given up (Hence my enquiries about parabolics in another thread)

Anyway, fingers crossed, and I might find time to drop in a bit more and catch up (If I'm not out driving )

    He he he he

My uncle did up hsi FJ Holden Ute and had it at a Holden show and shine day. Some 'trainspotter' had a go at him that the red paint on the hubcaps was the wrong shade and it made the restoration 'useless' and 'stupid'. This fool survived, somehow. Hey Lewy, thats cheating! You won't miss me though. Anyways, missed out on a few things, like not enough thread protruding on some of the suspension bolts, and a leaky exhaust pipe! No major dramas, on the road soon .

Actually that protuding thread does do a lot. If you dont have enough so that the nut is in safety, they might just fall out.

    Then your in big trouble.

Look forward to seeing the bright blue beastie driving around, I'll give you a wave if I see you.
