Im going to order a couple of ATB's for my Puma. I won't be able to install them. Is it a job for a Land Rover specialist (MR Automotive - need to book 18 years in advance to get work done)?
Can a specialised differential workshop do it just as well as a LR specialist? Will they know all the specific settings etc?

What's diff "lapping" ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
gone
1993 Defender 110 ute "Doris"
1994 Range Rover Vogue LSE "The Luxo-Barge"
1994 Defender 130 HCPU "Rolly"
1996 Discovery 1
current
1995 Defender 130 HCPU and Suzuki GSX1400
Basically it is running in the diff with a slightly abrasive paste applied so it wears in properly and with minimal load.

Would requesting lapping (Diff lapping that is :P) be considered best practice when installing an tab/truetrack?
Lapping is usually only necessary on a new ring and pinion, if you aren't changing them (eg changing ratios) then they should already be lapped or worn in. Perhaps if the pinion height changes it might need it lapping.
