Talking Ok really bought a 130 this time!

    Have just put a deposit on a 2003 130

We'll fly down to Newcastle and pick it up on the 29th and drive it all the way back to Darwin via Adelaide.. should be an adventure! (hopefully not too much of one tho!)

Its got 184,000k on the clock and a few nice extras. 2" lift, Koni shocks, rear Maxidrive axles, bullbar, winch & snorkel, Larger intercooler with chip and free flow exhaust, UHF, Engine temp management, water tank under tray and few other extras.

They'll throw in a lot of spares also... eg the original springs, belts and hoses and other stuff he got for big trips but never used.

A friend is looking at a second hand camper trailer in Adelaide.. so I might be towing that too! I guess we could use it for cheap accommodation...

Very nice rig. same year as mine. Mine has clocked 180k and I have just had the head pins replaced, just caught them in time they were about to shear.
Have a safe and enjoyable trip

Geez this sounds like a familiar story, buying a 130, flying to Newcastle to pick it up and drive it home.....man you must be crazy!

Do you feel like stopping off at Albury for a break and whilst there you could leave those wheels.

    Nice looking rig, congratulations

Thanks all - actually the first night I plan to stay in Albury on the way to Adelaide - some family are driving from Singleton to Albury on the same day and have some accommodation with room there

Hey Brian what are head pins and should I be worried about them? Are they the bolts holding the head on? I did get the rig inspected by a mechanic prior to purchase - should he have picked this up if there was an issue?

not sure if this is the issue, believe the pins are for positioning the head before bolt down

The head locating dowels were ok by 2003, although some plastic ones have been found on later ones but only a few.

Ah yep read about them.. wasn't if this was what he meant... wouldn't be an issue unless it got hot anyway would it?
