Disco 1 rims for the 130

Hi guys,
I want to buy six disco one rims or sunraysia for the defender as they are supposed to be tubed and the tyre fitting mob did not tube them at the time.
Having spoke to my mate round the corner (even though I have driven from the pilbara back to Perth on a fair few occasions) after speaking to him and hearing how many times his 130 rolled after a tyre blew on his untubed tubed tyres I am less inclined to try it again!
Ok I could stick tubes in but access to tubes can be a pain in the pants all of its own, I think finding a suitable rim negating the need for tubes all together would be best.
So my question really is price and availability and what rims would take my toyo's
Would confirm size but we are in a cyclone at the moment!
Oh and my tour of the pilbara is ending on the 6th of jan and I am returning to the metro area on a permanent basis, so I need to act fast!

I run D1 rims without tubes......no requirement to fit tubes, I have never had a tyre roll off the rims but than again have not been below 18psi

Not sure the D1 rims will have the correct load rating for a 130

The 130 lads will be along soon to advise the best rims

I have 2 sets of galvanised D1 rims that I run down to 7 psi offroad. Fitted with 255/85s and 285/75s (both tubeless).

D1's technically don't have the same load rating as 130 rims but they are as strong or stronger in reality.

I have been running late D1 mag rims on Defenders for the last 4 years
( tubeless )

In 1999 when the Defender Extreme was released it had the same mag wheel that the late Discovery 1 to runout stock.

When the Puma Defender was released they gave the wheels a facelift and called them a Boost wheel

The D1 rims are made of cheese in comparison to 130 rims. However, IIRC - You can get 130 rims in Tubed or Tubeless.

Radical suggestion I know but how about reducing your speed when airing down or just run at the correct pressure??

As for rolling due to a blowout.....

Would've happened whether tubed or tubeless.

The tyre deflates just as quickly with a blowout and the tyre rolls clean off the rim with a tubed tyre blowout.

Been there, done that, went tubeless on tube type 130HD rims.

ANR5593=welded construction,6.5Jx16,heavy duty, LR say for tubed tires
ANR4583=welded construction,6.5x16,heavy duty,for tubeless tyres
(J mentioned in the top line denotes valve stem size)

Hey mate,

I went sunraysia tubeless rims with 255/85, cost me 100$ per rim from jaxquickfit in Sydney and one got mangled in Darwin I got another for 120$ from bobjane. Hope that gives you an indication of cost.
Those were 0 offset king rims

Hi. My Meighbour has 4 (poss 5) steel Disco 1 rims in his shed.... Can ask him what he wants for them if you like.... Distance might be an issue tho!
