old news but worth it

This is from back in 2001 but I just had to post it for all to see.

A South African court ordered Land Rover to apologise for a newspaper ad which the Advertising Standards Authority called said "constitutes racial stereotyping and [...] makes a mockery of African culture". The advertisement features an African woman whose breasts were blown sideways in a passing Freelander vehicle's tailwind. Landrover must publish an apology in all the publications that ran the ad. Gavin Green, Land Rover director of communications said, from London, "we cannot have our company or our brand portrayed in this way", and the Hunt Lasus advertising agency is no longer being used by Land Rover.

    8) I don't remember that one. I like the one where they "release" a Freelander back into the wild and of course the Disco's "Been anywhere interesting lately" series. Especially the one with the crocodile.

I wonder if the Hunt Lasus advertising agency is interested in selling space in the AULRO newsletter.

I'll make some enquiries over lunch.

    More moons than Uranus ops:

And before you moderate that is an astronomical observation (and best done from a great distance) not something plucked at random from the pages of Gray's Anatomy
