4WD Insurance

Anyone had any dealings with OAMPS (ie good / bad) and their 4wd insurance?

How does it stack up compared with the other 4wd insurances offered by TCIS and the like??

Also, I will need to get an engineers certificate on the engine conversion to try and get a better price on my insurance, what should it cost??

A very interesting topic and one I'm sure a few people can share info on.

Has anyone had any particularly good service from an insurer - good claims handling and reasonable premiums ?

Are some insurers better than others when it comes to things that they will cover ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

BUMP

Interested in changing insurance companies, because RACV decided to BUMP my insurance up !!! Go figure, Rating 1, no claims at all since I've had insurance !!! And they decided to put it up by $100 a year, reason when I rang, maybe they have had a lot of claims in my area !!! Who cares !!!

Need to get new insurance, but need to pay it monthly !!

AAMI, is yearly, anyone else got a good insurance company ?

I have had a look at this (http://www.budgetdirect.com.au), a lot cheaper than RACV and AAMI, will cover any 4wd'ing, as long as it isn't out of manufactures specs :!: Simply want go with them because of there name.

Mate Im with GIO ,

I recently had an at fault claim where mine was the only vehicle damaged. It was on road and my fault entirely...... Im on Max no claim bonus, and I get 1 claim a year without affecting my premium or my NCB.

I pay by the month.

I can thoroughly recommend them ..... but no doubt someone will have a bad exp....

I was with the 4WD Association insurance scheme through TCIS. This year when the policy went from $1500 to $2500 with a 60% NCB I changed to AAMI for a policy costing $650. This is for a $36,000 policy.

And I'm well and truly over 25, er, 35, er, 45, er, 55.
