    body lift kits

Hi guys, looking at getting a body lift. Now i know you can do the kit yourself for like $100 but i was more interested in an engineered kit like lra's white tiger kit. They seem to be the only people who have a kit which is engineered. Are there other kits around which are engineered ?

    cheers Joe

Maybe Scorpion might do a kit but AFAIK the LRA kit is the only one that is engineered.

Thanks guys i was thinking the same, but with the laws on lifts now makes it hard for us. Not sure i think if you hit some with 35's or even 33's (depending on body lift)on , the insurance company will pull out on you due to been higher then the 150mm and not engineerable

You'll get away with a true 32" tyre without a lift but bigger than that requires a body lift. I'd advise going the LRA one as that is a comprehensively designed and engineered kit.

Then again I'd only go that way if you feel you really do need to run 33"+ tyres.

Ok lets say i want to fit 285/75 r 16 ( just under 33 inch ) what is the minimum i need to do to fit this size tire ? flares with a 2 inch suspension ?
As the more i think about it do i need 35's ( had them before ) i got twin locks to go in so it is only gaining 25mm extra diff clearance with 35's over 33's.

I got my body lift kit from xpajun off road in the uk used them twice now they do a complete kit except for bumper brackets. Highly recommend them they do a kit up to 4.5 inches a bit over the top ha ha.

Thanks Nigel i noticed the xpajun kit doesn't have the extra bracing back to the chassis for the lifting blocks, i am guessing they are important if you hit something at a 100kph. also just noticed i will have to disable my SRS Airbags ? wonder why as i would have thought they still would have worked as they are mounted behind the lights.

Body lifts are illegal on SRS equipped vehicles.

LRA have a 4" suspension lift kit for vehicles like yours.

    Smile

I dropped by LRA today and spoke to the chap down there, as mine is a 98 with only drivers side airbag i can disable it and either remove the bag from the steering wheel or replace the steering wheel. As my model the airbags is an optional extra so by removing it i can legally fit the body lift kit i was informed.
