    Firewood

    Hi All,

When not working on my Series II this past month - I have been getting firewood ready for this year. (It's the only heating that we have).

    This:

    Fell over to become this:

And then with the chainsaw/wood splitter became this:

Which then had to get moved into this:

So some 12+ Series II loads later - we are now finished!!!

I at least got to drive the old Landy - so there is a Land Rover connection to this story!

Good question Gav, I think the shed may be a little low for the 101...

Nice to see a Landy doing what she was built to do all those years ago! Hope you survived the day, GG. You deserve a beer or three.

Great little story, btw. I have a similar story involving a tree, a chainsaw, lots of firewood and my Brumby ute. As much as I love Bernie the Brumby, he is set to be replaced by Hedley the Landy (when Hedley eventually rises again).

    Howdy all,

Yes well the question of where the 101 is going to live is I think a sad one...

I don't think that it will live in the wood shed - to tall.

I don't think that it will fit in my garage next to Roger the 1960 SII - again to tall.

I think that the 101 is going to have to live outside in the cold..

And yes - the firewood was back breaking. I am getting too old / unfit to do this every year!

Excellent work Grey Ghost should be proud of herself.
Did she cut and split it too?

    Cheers,

Well, I'm jealous of your annual firewood day. (breathes deep, smokes pipe) Ah, the good life.

Ha, the good life thing is in my mind as the news said Penelope Keith (not a two dads name but she carried off the two-dads-toff-thing very well) got a gong earlier this week. I wonder if she's getting too old to get the firewood as well.
Good TV as I remember. Felicity (?) was the, ah, likeable one on that show.
