Post a pic of your storage solutions

We all know our landys can carry heaps of stuff, so I thought I would start a thread that may give other people ideas on how to set up the back of their cars

This is mine. It is a two piece bit of mdf board that hinges in the middle to form a false floor so I can put all my tools and recovery equipment out of sight. Plus a home made two piece cargo barrier with my old centre console in the back for random junk. All up it cost me just under $50 to set it all up.

Currently I am in the process of fitting two front defender buckets in place of the rear bench for more passenger comfort.

I made this unit from some old bed slats that I found and some marine carpet.
Little big of aliminum angle on the endge to make it loof spiffy and it works great.
have room on one side for the tool box and other side for anything else that will fit there.
No fridge just yet and the dog likes me as she can now see where she is going.

Lewy: any chance of a bigger pic ?

Gidget's centre console (see other thread) is a great storage solution too.

I am also interested in people's storage solutions for utes. and things that wil fit in single cabs.

Currently I have a tool box bolted to the tray but it means I can;t easily take it off to use the load space tio full capacity. I like the look of those dust/waterproff 'space cases' but security is a big issue, as the cases are expensive let alone the stuff I would have in them...

Too all you keen people

In other threads I told people about the custom dash and roof console I made for my Series 3 hardtop 109"
At the moment I have just designed a bash plate, centre console, dash pod and centre switch panel for my disco and when time persist I will do a rear draw system as well.

So to you all if you need some plans drawn up drop me an email of what you want and I could try to draw you a set of plans for you too follow

I was thinking of a 2 piece Defender floor console. The first bit would be Gidgets nice piece of work, if Gidgie's good enough to make up some plans when time permits.

Then I was thinking of a second 'concole' that fits over the transmission tunnel and has (perhaps) compartment between the tunnel and handbrake to fit in a fire extinguisher, and a hinged door to the fusebox, replacing the current plastic cover. It would also have 'holes' through which the gear/transfer case levers protrude, like in a normal sedan console.

Hmmm... I have design ideas but the execution thereof is another thing altogether. I have no idea what would be the best materials to use and how to best fix the end result in place - ie self tappers throught the metal or what ? :? ops:

Hi
Sorry not up to putting pics, too hard???????(or to stupid????).
In my 109 van,the previous owner boxed the LPG tank in (which is behind the bulkhead)with chipboard and stuck speakers in pointing to the rear.I fitted a security mesh barrier to the top of this to the rear edge which gives a parcel shelf about 450mm wide over the top of the bulkhead and also stops gear in the back visiting the front in a misshap. In the rear floor I have MDF panels that sit across the floor (and lift out)covered in a sheet of carpet. It gives a flat floor plus a space for the spare/tools etc out of view from prying eyes.(also cuts out heaps of noise)
Can email a photo to anyone able to post it.
Then again
I SHOULD LEARN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers

Well you can load into the gallery I know that.

Once you have it in there right click the photo.

Select Properties

Copy the URL address

Put the URL address into the post you are writing.

Then highlight it and click the IMG button at the top of the message screen.

If dont right you will get something that looks like this.
Ignore the stars

[*img]www.aulro/myphoto*.com*[*/img]

Thats it.
Sounds hard but easy once you get one right.

See how you go
