    Transmission Failure

Well after test towing my three ton van, my transmission has finally said, get me to hospital, numerous temporary fixes have been declared not permanent and major surgery is required, costing between 6.5 to 8.5k. I am still getting quotes for worst case costing.

Coolant problem fixed by fitting new coolant outlet housing.
Transmission flush and adding Dr Tranny fixed shudder.
Fitting the extra ATF oil cooler will be good for new tranny.
Re-flush ATF and new filter/casket gave hope but that's now gone.

As my neighbor said, it's not a problem that money won't fix.

    Car is a 2005 with 213k TDV6 approx towing 3T van 70k.

I now know that when you tow a heavy van to have the filter and ATF changed at 50 to 70 thousand k, not 120k like I did, with surging revs at constant road speed.

Regular ATF and filter changes after (three) does not undo damage already done.
