    Insurance Question

Just an insurance question that has come to mind from reading CUL's yarn about getting stuck in the sand. Does normal comprehensive cover protect you against the unfortunate occasions when a vehicle is written off or damaged whilst off road or do you require additional cover :?:

It all seems to come down to who your insurer is.

Mine will cover my Disco while on ANY marked or gazzeted roads.
This includeds desert trails and forrest trails, but not the beach of any roads that I have to make myself.

I can take out extra cover but on top of the $500 I pay now I am not interested.

Check around, each one offers something differant.
And always read the fine print.

I have been having a lot of trouble getting straight answers from insurance companies in this. :? The 'generic' booklets they said out are the usual arse-covering documents and the phone centre people either don;t want to commit themselves or don't know the product !!! :?

No-one has said to me anything about beaches etc and the book mentioned above certainly doesn't. It only says that the vehicle is NOT covered if involved in any form of competition.

Perhaps I'm not asking the right questions of the right people.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    Thanks guys,
I had thought as much but just thought would ask any way. Must remember to fully investigate when and if I get around to buying something good enough to insure.
