    Suspension Fault

    D4 with 100k and 3yrs old.

    Had the air compressor replaced under warranty at about 50k. Don't know whether or not the compressor was a replacemnt "old" version or a new later version.

    The vehicle now has a "suspension fault" and goes to "Normal Height only" after about 1-2minutes driving. Yellow warning light in dash. No other height mode available. I turn off the ignition and then on and the yellow warning is gone. Warnings are gone and I can access "offroad height" but on driving the error/warning re-occurs after a few minutes.

    The error isn't a "red" just a warning at yellow but the vehicle is unusable off road.

    Faults codes non-existent in Faultmate.

    Will be with LR for assessment - hopefully under extended warranty cover.

    The timing of the message suggests that the compressor is taking too long to get the reservoir up to pressure but a fault code should have been stored in the air suspension ecu.

    The New Commpressor has a different Cover which hangs much lower than the chassis rails and sill. I had the new comoressor put in about 12 months ago and it has worked a treat no more failing to raise or suspension faults.

    Hi,

    Air Compressor replaced under warranty with the new version as well as the necessary software update. The young forman I was served by at a a local LR dealership was most helpful, knowledgable and a delight to talk to.

    The system had a reasonable work out over the Australia Day Long Weekend over highway, corrugated roads and gravel and all seems good.

    Over the 18mths since the faulty original compressor was replaced with a new "old version" I came to get used to and accepted what I thought the D4 suspension was supposed to be like. From a laymans pespective the vehicle now handles very well, and what I thought to be overly sensitive (possibily shot) shockies now behave.

    Question: What is the primary difference between the older EAS System and newer EAS system apart from software? Is the a difference in Suspension System operating pressure?

    The only pressure difference is that the reservoir "full" pressure is lower than it was originally. This is purely software controlled so as to prevent the compressor from having to work so hard but which means that the compressor will restart earlier due to the reservoir being depleted sooner. There will be no ride differences.
