98 110 fuel line size

Hey all,

Does anyone know for sure the Fuel line size (main line coming from tank) on a 1998 LR 110. It looks like 5/16 but hard to tell. Im not keen on pulling the end of the barb at the sedimenter as the line is hard and I would not be surprised if it didn't seal properly again.

I guess this is one part of the LR that doesnt give any trouble, hence the lack of replies....

My concern is that it isnt really flexable hose or hard tube. So what is the best way to get a seal with a new fitting? and what size and type should that fitting be?

It seems that LR use it like push fit hose, i.e. no hose clamps etc, but the fitting at the sedimenter ends seem to only have one barb (by feel), which would normally have a clamp for felxable hose.

Obviously I can not use a compression fitting like it was metal tube....

96 - 110 - 5/16" return 3/8" flow You can use a compression fitting olive type no problems if you want to be really gung ho you can get the type with internal sleeve but not usually needed with the heavy wall tube

I had checked mine with the verneers. I was getting 10.3 or so OD and 8.3 OD of the metal tube/fitting at sedimenter for the flow line.

I was under the impression that hose was ID and metal tube OD?

Are you saying that I can use a compression fitting on the nylon fuel line?

Is it actually nylon or does it have a metal inner of some sort?

If I want to use a barb fitting on the flow line, is 5/16 going to work?

Also, the barbs I have seen from IFS are multi pronged and I guess designed for softer type hose.

I will be basicly joining new line to the old LR line and just need a straight connector of some sort.

Hose is hose tube is tube either metal or nylon barbs are a pita 4 -union is the one you are looking for

sorry for the stupid question, but can #4 as in your pic be used on fuel hose? I would have thought not.

I will be running new hose from the sedimenter to my CAV type filter and then to join back with the LR Nylon tube

I am a bit confused here I thought you wanted to join nylon tube to nylon tube .If you want to join neoprene hose to nylon tube your best solution would be female connector 10
and a male barb fitting.Hope I have it right

3/8" and 5/16" nylon TUBING. No hose is used. Compression fittings with inserts are the best connector to use

hmmm why do I get the feeling of a dodgy DIY plumber when I think of those fittings and nylon tube...

Will I loose much flow rate going to a fuel hose over the same given distance of tube?
