The Female of the Species....

I just had to start something a little more controversial than the usual topics, just to have a bit of fun and get some more members active in the forums.....

Not wanting to start any gender wars or anything..... but where are the posts from the female members of this registry?? You might see one from time to time... but they are few and far between...
Looking through the lists of members, there are a couple in there, but we haven't really heard a peep from a lot of them to be completely honest!

I'm rather interested to find out the female point of view of our trusty landrovers.... and I don't want to hear any excuses like I get all the time...

It would be a very benifical forum to find out what the lovely ladies think of these fine examples of engineering and stunning craftsmanship, and their opinions of the blokes that rule the roads with our mighty machines!!

(Note: I am not under any pressure from my girlfriend whatsoever - to type this forum as I agree with everything that she has ever said and I will never talk back again...... Yes Dear.... )

Regards,
Cul

Well Cul,

She MUST be a lovely girlfriend!! - How ironic that we women of this forum seem to 'shut-up' alot of the time! -For, as you know, we are a hard species to 'shut-up'! (Me included  )

As for commenting on the L/R's......
1) Love them - the Defender Range mainly - esp the D90 (my kinda car  )
2) If you got a good L/R - You'll keep it for ages!! - they can be very, very reliable beasts!
3) Most, if not ALL of them leak oil! (standard L/D trademark :? )
4) They are great fun to go off road bashing in!!
5) They make nearly every owner 'tinker' with theirs on the weekend

and i could go on, and on, and on (you know, like the 'female' that i am  ) - and let's not ask me to get into the technicals of this thread - as you dont want me to really start 'waffling on' now do you........NO (most males dread this!)

So i wont, i will spare the males of this forum (yep, i hear you all thanking me from here - no worries!!)

Cheers
Knight
(ps: Did i mention i am a female?! )

Knight, why do you have a male moniker if you're a female? Or is it your surname?

It was the name of my trusty dog (since passed away in Feb this year )

He had been though thick and thin with me for the last 8.5 years and i had always liked it as an 'secret' sign on name. (used it also on an aquarium forum when i had my massive custom tank built)

Bottom line is: I just really like the sound of it (even though it is a male title) - but if you knew me well, you'd know i was a bit of a 'Tomboy' anyways - so, it seems to fit!

(i would have thought the avatar of a GIRL helped?!? )

Cheers

Sorry to hear about your dog, must have been a hard time.

Tomboy? What, a lady Landie lover? Nah, doesn't fit!

Avatar, well I suppose so, but on the Internet one can never be sure who one is communicating with. Did you hear about the 14-year old who got himself stabbed? And I've occasinallly played with 419ers under a variety of diguises.

My wife likes our Defender, she was keener on it than the Patrol. Said it was a "real 4WD". My daughter likes it too as she can see out easily.

I have now changed my avatar - still, i will keep the Knight name!
(all the regulars know i'm a female by now...hmmmm, well i hope so - i did post a picture in the thread of: Who are you a couple of weeks/months ago and i am sure i look quite femal in it!!) - if you haven't seen that one - you should check it out - alot of us have put a face to the 'pretend' name!

Love the new avatar knight, where on earth did you find that one

I remember that topic, it was called what do you look like, or something like that. I'll go and dredge it up
