Try Jim, send a PM to russellrovers as he could supply one or at least may be able to give you the dimensions.

Just found one in an old gasket set. 1/4" cord diameter, 1" OD (so about 1/2" ID)

There is a lot of flash on the mould line so it looks like low volume production rather than from an O-ring supplier.

    Hope this helps.

Scott's old rubber do them as well. Please note that there is a cooper ring that is fitted inside the o-ring. Look at the series 1 water pump bits on the Dingocroft website.

That's interesting, and might explain why mine leaks. I knew the Series 1 had the copper 'collar' but not the 6. Would it be the same dimensions on both engines?

I will check my parts books and let you know. A bit of RTV rubber outside the o-ring never hurt as well before you bolt the thermostat housing or water pump back on!

    2.6 water pump

You need an RTC1975 o-ring and a 9197 washer (ring). That should help fix things!

My parts books show a split bush (metal) part number 564164 up to suffix B engines. This pushes into the water pump and sticks out for the O-ring to locate on. Not something you might normally replace/remove.
No need for a copper ring fitted inside the O-ring.

A later picture shows a spigot on the pump body but does not list p/n 564164 as a separate item

Picture below is the motor from my FFR, you can see the O-ring sitting on the spigot on the pump (you can just see a split so it must be p/n 564164)

Thanks Colin - water pump in your picture looks same as mine, except the spigot/bush on mine seems to be damaged, which may be letting water escape. Not enough to be noticeable in the tank, but always a brown stain from that joint. Will search the usual suppliers tonsee if anyone carries that part.

    Thanks again

    Roger
