Hi All,


Just done it again .... bought another D4 :-)


Same spec, give or take, as my current car, it's MY13 but has no Ks on the clock and cheaper than what I paid 4 years ago for my Ex Demonstrator SE.


Ipanema Sand with Ebony trim, SDV6 SE with rear air, H&K Hi-Ice (11 speaker) and reversing camera.


Tic, tic, tic .... delivered in a week.

My two bosses have '13 SE's. Goes like a scalded cat (for a diesel) and the tech pack (if you got it) is very nice.

But.....................no gear shift I'm annoyed just being in the passenger seat.

I am hoping that for the 2015 (when my lease is up) edition they'll see sense and bring it back.

The knob's not a big deal, you soon get used to it. I no longer care that I don't have a gear stick because I have flappy paddles. I never thought I would say this, but I really like them. Makes it a lot more fun to drive through the twisty bits.

I agree, the paddles are fun on the open road and a bit more convenient as they are right there and can keep both hands on the wheel. My only dislike with the paddles is when your in low range and with the E diff activated you have a lot greater steering wheel travel to accomplish the same turn rate as in hi range and have to go searching for the paddles. Not often and as I have now been relying on drive rather then powers shift which I probably should have done from the start.
A nice feature tho would be to have an added display in the 4x4 screen that shows you which gear the car has selected when running in low range......

I personally prefer the paddles to a gear stick. Find I use manual more with the paddles, as it's so easy to use, and very easy to switch back to full auto.

As for rubbish bag, you do know there are 2 curry hooks buit into the lower glove compartment...

Thanks phl, I thought they were some sort of alignment bump on the lid. I certainly didn't recognise them as hooks. Googled "curry hook" and found a picture and voila!. She will be pleased.
