Not a big fan of the drumlines myself, but something had to be done.
It seems MR Great White who gets the blame for being the no1 people eater is yet to get tricked into a dead bait.

Some people would see that and say that they must have a shark i.d booklet that only has 3 pictures in it and if they cant tell its classed as a tiger shark, or the worlds population of tiger shark lives between lancelin and augusta in WA.

Must be lotsa seals around this year to keep Mr White Pointer happy.

    Cheers Ean

Andy, how come some are destroyed and some are'nt?
Is it just because they're over 3mts, or are there other factors that come into it too?
My eyes are'nt the best, but I cant see any that are smaller that have been detroyed. So, I'm assuming its the case, but what made them decide that was the magic figure to start with?

We watched the big seal on TV the other night,,, an awesome sight to have seen on a beach for those there . We were down at Warnambool (Great Ocean Road, Vic) a couple of years ago, and they had a baby seal hanging out in the harbour which decided to come up onto the jetty/boatramp. Fun to watch, very friendly, had people mezmorized for ages. Was good to see.

I can't see what all the Greenie hullabaloo is about. They are only culling certain sharks over a certain size on a very small percentage of the WA coast near popular swimming beaches where attacks have occurred.

For the other 99% of the coast - and it is a big area, the big fish in grey suits can swim and munch away to their little heart's content.

Some sanity must prevail and while I agree it is the shark's domain, little Mr & Mrs Jones and kiddies should be able to swim on a beach with some confidence in the fact that they are not going to end up as the first course.

As for imbecile surfers who go out at dawn or dusk on their own and get eaten, then the sharks are just acting as natural selectors and taking these morons out of the gene pool.
